Annual SCC Fine Art Exhibition and Sale

SOUTHWICK – Pat McMahon, Chair, Southwick Cultural Council (SCC), announced that plans are underway for the 11th annual juried Fine Art Exhibition and Sale scheduled for April 10-11 at the Southwick Town Hall. The show will open each day at 10:00 a.m. and close at 4:00 p.m.
Approximately 40 talented artists from Northern Connecticut and Western Massachusetts have been selected to display their art in the form of oils, photography, watercolors, pastels, acrylic, wood, pottery, soapstone carving, and many others.
The poster art selected for the show is a watercolor entitled “A Picnic Day,” by Dianne Murphy of Holyoke, MA.
The show will include live demonstrations including stained glass by Christopher Lyons; thrown and red ware pottery by Cool Pottery and Harold White; felting and fiber art by Nancy Dorian; historical fine crafts such as lace bobbin making by Lynne White; hand quilting by Carol Geryk and Joyce Bannish, and rustic furniture making by Tom Huntoon as well as a nonjuried student art (K-12) display. Additionally there will be a book signing by Author Amy Caruso – The Black Squirrel Ball, a Samantha Cummings Mystery.
Contempaissance – Flute and Guitar Through the Ages led by Gary Jackson, a classical guitarist and composer, and joined by Chris Glanville, a multi-instrumentalist will perform on Sunday.

The Southwick Cultural Council (SCC) is an all-volunteer local partner of the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC), a state agency and is funded in part by the MCC and Town of Southwick.
